Stop NIS from marking legitimate email as Spam

I am using Thunderbird as my email client and running windows 10.

Please can someone tell me how to stop NIS from marking legitimate emails as {Spam?} in the subject line. I would actually like to turn off the spam facility altogether, in my experience it marks emails from my precious customers as Spam, yet allows real spam email to arrive in my Inbox unmarked, so it's really not working for me.
