Stop Spamming Me (Moderator Forward Requested)

To moderator: Please send this message to the correct department. I cannot figure out Symantec's support pages.

To Symantec:

Stop SPAMMING me or I will terminate this contract. Stop all pop-up messages, instant messages, text messages, etc. Do not send any more email. Stop harassing me.

I have researched your competition and am ready to switch. Yes, I know I leave money on the table at Symantec. I do not care. Yes, I know I will have to learn another UI. I do not care. Yes, I know I have been a customer since before you bought Peter Norton. I do not care.

I know this request will take time, so here's the bottom line: I will uninstall Symantec and block CC charges by Symantec, Norton, NortonLifeLock,  and your other DBAs if you SPAM me after 12/4/2020.

Moderator - please forward to the appropriate Symantec/Norton group.

C.f. "Stop Spamming Me" for context

One last bit to share before I cancel my Norton 360 subscription. While waiting for all of my family members to bring their devices to me, I paid attention to the message content. EVERY message except 1 was advertising some feature/benefit/product that I already had. It's ironic and sad for you guys. You were great, but not any more.

No need to reply. Good luck to you.

Thank you, Peter, for the explanation. Notwithstanding, these pop-ups are unacceptable; a deal breaker for me. They are just more SPAM and occur too often.

Not many people here will open a .pdf file from an unknown source. Instructions to post screenshots can be found here

The pop up you posted is somehow coded into our product. When a LiveUpdate changes a certain file/feature, it resets whatever setting that is used to display that protection 'warning'. The Don't ask me again will take effect until the next update to that file/feature.

No, the settings changed in the chat did not solve the problem. See attached photo.

Thank you for posting on the Norton Community. I have passed on your feedback to the concerned team.

Thank you,
Gayathri

Norton has been around for years providing cyber protection for devices like computers, smartphones and tablets. The subscriber base of Norton is worldwide. LifeLock has also been around for years providing identity theft protection in United States.

In the year 2017, Symantec (a parent company of Norton at that time) completed the acquisition of the LifeLock company.

In the year 2019, Symantec went apart from Norton to join Broadcom Inc.
At the same time,  Norton and LifeLock became one company: NortonLifeLock Inc.

Today, NortonLifeLock refers to a single company that is a global leader in consumer Cyber Safety. The company is dedicated to helping secure the devices, identities, online privacy, and home and family needs of nearly 50 million consumers.

UPDATE from Chat #xxxxxxxxx (yes, I've been waiting since before starting this thread)

It appears that there are some settings Symantec tech support can turn off on their end. I had to repeat my promise to cancel the contract, but once we were clear, it seems there are settings that they can change. Time will tell.

Soulasylum, the setting you mention has been off for a very long time and has no effect. Neither does the one on the account settings on their website.

To Symantec: Make no mistake, I will terminate the contract and block CC transactions after 12/4/2020 if the SPAM continues.

Steve. Marketing, with their intrusive pop-up notifications, email messages, snail mail won't ever go away. Its job security on their part. One important thing to note is whether what you are seeing, are legit instances in their entirety. Many spammers use the Norton logo and theme to do their bidding. You can validate email from Norton using this URL. I have NEVER received an "instant message" from Norton, period. Spamming will send those, ultimately it is up to the account holder to determine whether those are spam. In most instances they are unless coming from someone you know.

Have you disabled the special offer notification setting in your Norton UI? I will flag a moderator for you as well.
