Stop VPN install requests

I have another VPN so don't need or want the Norton's VPN. The problem is that every time I try to use my laptop or phone I get a popup reminder to install Norton's VPN. How do I stop these notices?

What you are probably seeing is Norton trying to set up the Safe Web feature. Because of the way Apple locks down their iOS, the only way Norton was able to provide the Safe Web function was to use the Apple VPN programming API's. So 360 needs to set up a VPN configuration in iOS settings. This configuration does not provide any VPN function and will not interfere with your chosen VPN app.

Popups.pngThis is the popup that I get. And I get it each time I use my phone. There is no way to stop it in the app. I turned off notifications for the app in the IOS settings, but this didn't stop the popup. So I guessing this popup isn't regarded as a notification by the Norton app. I love my VPN and will be keeping it. I believe it's better, and has many more options, than Norton's basic VPN. Plus I've already paid for the VPN for the rest of the year.

If I can't figure out how to stop the popup, I've decided to delete the Norton app from my phone.

The app I have on my iPhone has no Setting section.

Are you referring to the Norton 360 app? For an Android device, tap on the the three bars at the top left of the 360 interface and you will see the Settings option. Under General section you will see a Product Suggestions setting. Turn that off and that may stop the popups on the phone.  The iOS version does not have a settings page in the app. But you may be able to use the iOS notification settings for the 360 app to stop the popups.

For popups on your Windows laptop, the information in my post above should work.

Also, there is no X on the top right corner. I wish there was a way to show a screenshot of the popup.

Hello,

I also faced this problem a few months ago and I tried these steps:

  1. Open the Norton software on your laptop or phone.
  2. Navigate to the settings or preferences menu.
  3. Look for an option related to notifications or reminders.
  4. Disable or turn off notifications for Norton's VPN.
  5. Save your changes and exit the settings menu.

If you're still unable to find the option to disable notifications within the Norton software, you may need to contact Norton's customer support for further assistance.

If you are getting a pop up message for this, just hover your cursor over the X at the top right and then click on Do Not Ask Again.
