I am running NIS 2012 and WIn XP/SP3 on a Dell M4300 laptop. NIS 2012 was just installed. The install picked up my previous settings so that all background scans are shut off. But NIS 2012 seems to ignore that and is constantly starting up short duration scans that I have to manually stop. It does not even give me the opportunity to reduce the priority of the scans (not that that ever worked in previous versions of NIS). I want to shut every background task off or I want real control over the priority of such scans.
I have set all the "do something" delays to the max (20 minutes) and I guess that the workaround is to set the power settings on the laptop so that it goes to sleep at 19 minutes of inactivity
