Strange Activity

Alright so, recently by using the adaware2008+NIS2009 combo, I recently overcame the lovgate worm, I havent seen it floating around on my system for two days now, after consecutive full system scans and removals the prior three days. However, now my computer is acting a bit, odd.

Every now and again (not right now obviously since I am able to use a browser to get online, nagivate to a website, put in a username, password, AND make this inquirey) my winlogon.exe will jump the cpu usage of my machine from anywhere to an additional 20%, up to 50% or so. I looked it up online among other people who have reported such activities, and from what I understand, their problems are consistent, mine are not, at least as far as I know (the winlogon cpu usage didnt start jumping till this morning, the prior days before today, I had no such problem).

I am just curious, is this common behavior for winlogon? It "seems" to have stopped when I removed tracking cookies by means of NIS and Adaware, during my most recent scan to see if the lovgate has popped back up (which as far as I can tell, it has not).

Or should I be expecting a nasty surprise if I restart my computer? Has anyone encountered situations similar to this? Or is there something going on which my programs have not yet detected?
