Well, here is the screenshot (a little large, but it serves the purpose). Why is my PC Identified as the Attacker? Does this mean that there is some sort of malicous code trying to communicate from my PC?
Ummm I think you just showed all of us your real IP Address. You should have blocked it out.
Hi Acronym2,
First, Dieselman743 is correct to point out that you should block out your address. I'll report it to a moderator to see if anything can be done to edit the screenshot.
This appears to be a "Drive-By" attack targeted at a vulnerability in your Quicktime Player. See this article.
The reason your computer is listed as the attacking computer is because the "attacker url" tried to invoke your Quicktime Player.
Check to see that you have the most recent version of Quicktime Player installed. You can run a free scan to check all of your updates here under the "Scan your PC" heading.
I don't believe you are infected as NIS blocked the intrusion attempt,
Here is a similar post dealing with an SWF attack.
The Mods will not be able to edit a screenshot. Please delete your shot yourself
anyone know the most recent version of quicktime player should be?
Also this drive by attack does show that Norton stops the attack !!
Hi NY1986,
Check all of your updates here: secunia.com
Use the header "Scan Your PC".
Hope that helps.
Thanks Allen_K and the others, I guess that was a bit stupid of me. How can a revealed IP address be exploited? In other words should I watch for or do something in case someone tries to take advantage of my dumb mistake? Here is a properly prepared screenshot.
Hi Acronym2,
As I mentioned earlier I think it was a drive-by attack that was blocked by Norton.
Have you checked your computer to be sure Quicktime is up to date?

Filehippo always has the latest version of any software. Also use Quicktime Alternative to be more secure.
