Strange file in startup

Hi, my first post!

Recommended a friend to use 360 and it has been running on her laptop for nearly a year. The other day she told me her laptop was running slowly so I had a look and found that windows firewall was running as well as 360. Sorted that and was checking other things and found diejfca.exe in the startup files shown via msconfig.

I googled diejfca and nothing!! That surprised me, anyone have any ideas.

thanks

John

Hi, Are you sure the spelling is right?

I have to second that thought, I have checked the following after a quick Google search and no luck finding it.

http://www.systemlookup.com/  System Lookup

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/  Startup Programs Database

http://www.what-is-exe.com/  Computer Processes, Spyware and Adware Alphabetical Directory

http://exefile.submitfile.com/d.html  Exe File Information Directory

Well in that case, Attaching the screenshot will help us a lot.. :)

Hi fisjon:

Welcome to the Norton Community!

Any .exe can be easily renamed to whatever. Malware is like that, too. Just something to think about.

Have you ever used the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to cross check? - available here.

FWIW,

Atomic_Blast :)

BTW - When I install NIS, it disables Windows Firewall by default. I would expect the same from 360. Please disable it.
