How can a Scan "start" at 1500 if it is not Set to...?  Do you Start this Scan Manually?

Does your "friend" have any Programs running during the "second" Full System Scan?

And what is "normal time"?

Don’t know how a scan can start when it is not set but it does every week. It is not started manually. As far as I know there are no other programmes except Live Messenger running at the time of the second scan because she goes to bed and leaves it. A “normal Time” is such as it takes my computer to do - about 30 - 60 min utes. I just can’t understand what happens but it does. I have been using Norton AV since 2000 and have not seen any thing like it.

There is your answer: If “she” stays Signed In to Messenger, this will slow the Scan.  I would suggest Signing Out of W.L.M. and then Run the Scan.

Thanks. I’ll try that.

Just make sure no other Programs are Open when Running the F.S.S. except Norton or the F.S.S. it-self.
