Thanks for the good news -- now go and enjoy a wonderful Christmas season.
Maybe for New Year you need to think about upgrading to Norton Internet Security where you can see what has been happening ..... !

I had NIS last year, but I felt there was too many things for my needs. I didn't even install everything to my PC. Perhaps I¨ll take a look at the stuff I did´t install then, as it still must be valid, and after my resting 200 days left of N320 we'll see
You don´t know how to uninstall the things in the cleaned file? Or perhaps it is better to start a new tread ?
Take care and again merry merry X-mas

Are you sure that was NIS and not NSW? I don't remember any choice in NIS when I installed NIS2009 and I don't really remember installing NIS2008 although I had it.
With NIS2009 you get the advantage of the new faster lighter footed engine and access to detailed History. On the other hand people do seem to be having problems with NIS 2009 at the moment and N360 is good for the fit and forget user .... but then they don't usually bother about things like HIstory!

Not sure what you mean by that -- can you explain? If it's related to what happened with that email the keep it here by all means.
Hi again… I had NIS 2007 (Norton internet security) and I bought it in a shop, that year, which I renewed, and now N 320…
Ir seems that Im something in the middle, both fit and forget as well as interested in the history, and I want to have possibilities to config my programs…combination not easy to find now adays…
I don’t know if my question is related to this tread, I think so as that’s the place the clean W32Netsky P is now…
What I tried to explain was if you go to “config protection” then to “put in quarantine”. That gives you a window where on the left hand side you read
" files you can restore" ,and under that you see the list with the cleaned files, a loooong one, and as I don’t want to restore any of them, I would like to get rid of them.
Perhaps the files has other names, but I have the N320 in Spanish I have to try to translate what they might be called, but for sure you get it by description…
In addition to all the excellent information on this thread, I would add that Symantec will NEVER contact you through email with an attachment. I do not recommend opening any attachments in emails, unless you are expecting the attachment. Many times, your family and friends could have their email addresses forged, and malware will send emails with their address.
