Streaming defs

Yeah, hopefully this will not be a continuing matter of concern for users of NIS09. With the stats being displayed on the main interface, it’s going to be obvious when anything goes a miss, or just doesn’t seem right.

S.D.s are Released every ten minutes on average and are Released with Mod.s of Viruses, Trojans, e.t.c..

Is there a way to see how LU is meant to Run, i.e. like in N.I.S. 2008, you could got to the Control Panel to change the Interactive/Express Mode and how often it runs?

Hi All,

I'm researching what may have happended with the Pulse Updates. I'll let you know as soon as I get any information.

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for notifying us of this! We were able to make the proper adjustments and should have this issue corrected. If you see this issue again, don't hesitate to let us know about it.

If you still have the same problems, be sure to run LiveUpdate, then monitor if the Steaming Definitions come in properly after that (although, your product should have already received them).

Thanks for you patience during this!

Thanks Tim :)

So far so good, last update for me was 2 minutes ago =)

I still have problems with Streaming Defs (NIS 09 - Windows Vista 32bit SP1), last update 9 hours ago. Is this because I’m running a trialware ? Am I the only one having this problem ?

Yea it would appear there is a problem again, my last update was 11 hours ago! Then when I started up my computer today, Norton didn’t appear to load and the icon still isn’t in the task bar even though I have early load on.

This is sometime later, but my sigs are up-to-date.

Is anyone still seeing this issue? Please let me know if you’re still not able to get your streaming defs current. Thanks!

I still don't receive automatic streaming definitions. I have currently NIS 2009 trialware installed on Windows Vista SP1 32bit.

"Automatic LiveUpdate - Not run", "Pulse Updates - Not run". Definition Updates - 1 day ago.

Same problem here :frowning: no pulse updates since 3 hours. Full version of NIS 2009

Hi Tony :smileyvery-happy:

Pulse Updates - Hit & Miss :smileysad:

I installed NIS 09 3 days ago :smileyhappy:

By The Way.... Love The Super Quick Installation :smileywink:

I Noticed Straight Away... Pulse Updates ... Weren't Working As They Should :smileysurprised:

The Fist Day... I Manually Ran Live Update Twice

Just to make sure I was up to date and covered

Since Then - Friday... I've left it to it's own devices.

NIS 09 ... Seems to update randomly :smileysad:

There is No set pattern

But its' certainly not every 10 minutes.

At the moment it's saying 1 hour

Although I know it's more like 1 and 1/2 hours

I've left it alone... And I just check it now and again :smileywink:

To make sure it never goes too long without - Updating

I know there are so may other people with the same problem.

I very much doubt this problem is my end.

I'm Not Too Worried...

As Long As It Is Actually Updating A Couple Of Times a Day :smileyhappy:

Thanks!

Hi Tony  :smileyhappy:

Me Again!

Just to give you an idea of what I mean by - Hit & Miss!

After My Last Post...

I Shutdown my laptop because my battery was almost flat - 14%

Also...

I've been having problems with this new laptop not shutting down properly ... So I wanted to check that :smileysad:

I connected to Mains Power... And Started Up The Laptop Again.

When everything was all settled down...

I Checked - NIS 09 ... To see when it last updated - 2 Hours :smileysurprised:

So...

I Did Run - Live Update

It Still Said... 2 Hours :smileysurprised:

I surfed the web for about 10 min

Then left the laptop for a bit :smileyindifferent:

NIS 09  -  Popped up with the Background Activity message.

Half an hour later....

I Checked NIS 09 Again .... Last Updated - 9 Minutes :smileyvery-happy:

Like I said... Hit & Miss!

PS.

How do I check in NIS 09 ... To see if it's blocking a program?

My QuickPlay Software isn't working properly ( Hanging On Start Up )

I very much doubt it's NIS 09 causing the problem.

Beceause...

Even when I unblocked Quickplay from Transaction Protection in NIS 08 .... Quickplay still hung on start up :smileysad:

However!

I just thought... It was still best to know where to look for it.

Just In Case - NIS 09 Is Blocking The QuickPlay Service... Like NIS 08 Was!

Note : In case anyone is wondering....

The Shutdown problem is NOT caused by NIS 09

I know this because... It still did it with - No Security Installed :smileywink:

Thanks!

Just Checked Again... 3 Minutes Ago! :smileywink:
