A few months ago I wanted a Java code obfuscator. I searched online and found something called "Stunnix free java obfuscator". There are lots of different
results you get when you search for "stunnix" and/or "java obfuscator". Looked on the up-and-up. I downloaded the
downloader for that. Fortunately, I was wary enough to not run it (I think). At the time, Norton Internet Security 360 did not have a problem with it. A day or
2 ago Norton auto installed the new version of Norton 360. THAT version detected the SAPE Trojan horse (malware allows attacker to execute code on your
system). The exact file it birddogged was SAPE. Downloader.5 I recall that stunnix.com (that's the website) looked legitimate. I no longer believe that.
I find it significant that Norton 360 did NOT detect it. That means these guys are sophisticated at avoiding detection. Who knows who they really are.
I have complained to the organization that hosts their website, have not heard back from them. I am very interested in seeing a head on a platter about this.
