I bought a new subscription for 2 new laptops and used the third download on a computer that already had some time on it from another subscription. I thought it would add the 366 days to the current subscription. Instead, it started a new subscription, taking around 40 daysoff of the original subscription. How do I get the 366 days added to the current subscription?

Did you buy a renewal of an existing subscription or did you buy a new copy with an installation file/disk etc?
When you buy a renewal from Norton then it does add to any unexpired time but if you buy a new copy and use a different KEY it wipes out the unexpired time.
Whichever way you did it you should contact Norton's Customer Support as below and they can almost certainly sort it out and even if you bought a complete new copy, not a renewal, they sometimes will add that lost time back on ....
To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there.
You can choose CHAT or Email; phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.
Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
I bought a new subscription from HP for my computer the money has been taken out of my checking account already and when I downloaded it it say it expires in 60 days!!! I have went through all the the steps it told me to and when I go to my norton account it says it is a trial! I did not pay almost 54.00 for a trail it is suppose to be a 1 year subcription for norton 2011

Would you please tell us exactly what were the steps you were told to do. Just don't post any keys or confidential personal information.
When you buy a subscription, at least definitely when you buy it from Norton, you get an email from them which gives you the KEY to activate it. Norton Trial installations are identical to ordinary installations what you buy in a store on a disk except they have a limited run time before they stop or you activate them using the KEY when you buy it.
I would expect the same with HP.
I think the first thing you need to do is to look and see what HP tells you when you buy from them and if you were supposed to get an email with the KEY in it to look for it. It may have been blocked by your Spam filter, either on your PC or at your Internet Service Provider so check there by webmail and look for emails from HP in the Junk sections.
If you don't find the key then get in touch with HP and ask them about it since Norton will not have been involved.
But please let us know what happens.
