Subscription expired after upgrade

Greetings!

 

I have an issue with NIS for Mac that I hope someone can help me with.  The issue is this:

 

I had NAV for Mac (V11.0 I believe) installed on my MacBook.  My subscription expired, so instead of just renewing it, I decided to purchase NIS for Mac v4.0.  Unfortunately even after an uninstall of the NAV product and installing NIS, my Virus Definition subscription is still reporting as expired.

 

How do I get the system to acknowledge that I have a new product and therefore an new subscription?  (Compare to the Windows versions which uninstall any previous versions of Norton software before installing and require a product activation key, which Mac versions do not.)
