"Subscription Expired" because my computer's clock is broken and jumped to 2046...

I have Norton installed on two computers - my netbook and my PC. The former has an internal clock that is temperamental, to say the least. Almost every time I start the netbook, its time has changed to something silly - usually, about twenty years in the past. (I suspect it is sensitive to movement - it primarily happens after I have taken the netbook out and about)

Today, when I logged in, my netbook was convinced that it's now November, 2046. I changed the time back and synchronised the time with an internet time server, but in the meantime, my Norton Internet Security became convinced that my subscription has expired and that it should no longer protect me.

I rebooted the netbook, but to no avail. I ran Liveupdate, and, ditto, no improvement. Norton Internet Security is convinced I'm trying to lie to it, because the time skipped ahead by accident and has now moved back to 2011.

How can I fix this? Does this mean Norton Internet Security is refusing to do its job and protect my computer? And how do I avoid this problem in future, given that the netbook's internal clock is unreliable?
