"Subscription Expiring" Notices After AV 2011 Installed

I had Norton AV 2010 that was due to expire in about a week, so I installed Norton AV 2011.

Now I get a message at some point every day that says "You have [blank number] of days remaining in your subscription." The only options it will allow on this window are "Renew now" or "Remind me later."

How do I get rid of this message? I don't want to continue receiving unneeded alerts.

Hi vicky22,

Also, did you run live updated repeatedly (rebooting as requested) after you initially installed NAV 2011? Please tell us your resulting version from Support > About.

Best wishes.

Allen

AllenM - thank you for your response. I purchased a CD-rom version of Norton AV 2011 through a retailer and installed it.

I am not sure the best way to go about updating the subscription... do I choose "Renew" on the Norton menu or "Support - Subscription Status?"

Thank you.

Hi vicky22,

Again, since you purchased this through another retailer you will need to click on "Renew" and then enter the new product key in the box provided.

Do this 1-2 days before your current subscription expires because the entering of the new product key will start the clock over with your new registration duration. E.g., if you had say 30 days left now and entered the product key now, you would end up having 366 days on your subscription instead of 396. This is assuming the subscription you purchased is for 1 year.

Though Customer Service typically adds these days back on, it is easier to just wait until the last day or two and then enter the new product key.

After you have done this then your Norton Account will refect the status of your new subscription.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Allen
