I have renewed my subscription to Norton Internet Security for 3 years, but my account only shows 372 days remaining on the subscription. (i.e. 1 year).
I have gone to on line support and followed the instructions given. I have now run the "download" function six times (if I haven't lost count already!!) and the download icon still appears against the product in the account screen. When I run the download, after "running" bar disappears a box flashes up saying "download complete" for about 1 second.
Does anyone know why it is not updating???
Conntact Norton's OnLine Customer Support via CHAT as below about the missing days -- they have the tools to sort this out.
On the Download ....
You say "on the account screen" -- do you mean the screen showing you bought it from the Norton eStore on line or the screen when you log into your MyNortonAccount usually using your email address and a password ?
If the former then the reference to Download could be to start the download you bought or it could refer to what is called Download Protection I think which is just a system so you can download more than once like if you need to reinstall or buy a 3PC version.
Neither of those Downloads are intended for updating you existing installation say from 2010 to 2011. For that you do it differently.
Could you tell us which of all that Download stuff you mean.
If it is for the original download then Customer Support can probably help you get what you want when they deal with the sxubscription but if it is just to get an installation file for a new installation or to update your present one then we can help you here.
Please lelt us know.
Here's the Customer Support link followed by the kind of additional information we need from you to help you with installing:
To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there.
You can choose CHAT or Email; email or phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.
Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
Would you give us some more information about your system:
What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn where "n" is a number.
If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.
If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.
Please also say what internet browser you are using -- name and version number ...
Please let us know how you get on ....
