Dear Symantec,
May we please have an ETA on when Norton will support Outlook/Office 2013? How about the x64 version?
I've read a few other posts where the excuse was given (for Office 2010) that x64 was not "recommened" my Microsoft. That may have been the case 3 years ago, but last I've checked all future OS releases will no longer have x32 versions. Guess you can't use that excuse anymore.
I've also read a few others where it is claimed that Symantec does not support "beta" versions... well, Office 2013 is now hardly in beta, it is in full retail release. If Symantec wants to claim to keep up with breaking threats and cutting edge technologies, I think leaving out Office 2013 and x64 support is a major oversight on your parts.
As security experts, I don't need to tell you that not protecting incoming/outgoing messages is a HUGE security gap. Therefore I'm asking on behalf of your users for a reasonable ETA on Office 2013 and x64 support... that way we can make an informed choice as to whether to continue renewing your product, or to go with someone who can actually protect us.
Thank you.
P.S.
I'm writing this as someone who truly loves your products, but if management doesn't get with the program (it's been 3+ years now that your users have been asking for x64 versions) and get their development priorities straight, well...

hi
http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Product-Update-20-3-of-Norton-360/td-p/913395
plzs see this link above all so if you will have full support with 32 bits of outlook 2013 but has for 64 bit of outlook 2013 has far has i no it will olny be partey be supported wish means your not going too get the same support has you would with the 32 bit verson so if you want full support of outlook 2013 i would downgrade too the 32 bit verson and has for the ETA it is ready for down lode now this hit live update on what evere norton you ues and it will updaed you too 20.3
Are you saying that 20.3.x will support x64? That would be GREAT!
How do I download, please - is there a link? It has not yet been pushed via LiveUpdate (just checked again).
Downgrade Office, the software used for probably 90% of my work in order to keep a product that doesn't keep up? Really? That's the recommended solution? (Sorry, but my Outlook PST file passed 100MB several years ago.) Wouldn't it make much more sense to upgrade my security to keep up with the times?
That's why I'm asking if x64 support for Office 2013 is planned to be added sometime in the foreseeable future (if it's not in 20.3 already, I mean)... so I can plan my security policies accordingly. Even if limited in functionality, at least the ability to scan incoming/outgoing messages in Outlook seems like a pretty wide security gap to leave unfilled...

hi
what verson of norton do you have right now? too update it run live update and it will update you too verson 20.3 all so out look 2013 64 bit is not fully support but outlook 2013 32 bit is fully supported in any way you would not be geting the same stuff that you will be geting in the 32 bit there will be some things missing in outlook 2013 64 bit
Currnetly 20.2.1.22 ... I tried the link above, but the checker told me I'm up to date, no updates necessary. I've read elsewhere that thus far it is only being selectively pushed, to a limited usership for testing & feedback. No date yet ona wide release, that's why I was hoping for a manual install link.
Not "fully" supported is okay... but will I at least be able to turn on the Outlook function in N360 settings? Now it's completely grayed out. Will incoming/outgoing messages at least get scanned for bugs? Anti-spam bar would be nice, sure, but that I can at least live without until 20.4 (though would like to hear that better x64 support IS on the list, at least). Without message scanning, I fell like I'm not fully protected, is all.
Thank you for your quick replies - very much appreciated.

hmmm are you uesing the ENGLISH verson of norton 360? you sould be geting it soon if not now but if you live out side of the USA then you may have too wait in tell it comes in too other regions like the UK
Okay, it just upgraded to 3.20.0.36... however under Settings / Anti-Spam / Client Integration / E-mail Clients the Outlook option is still grayed out. I am using English versions (both N360 and Office 2013).
So seems we have NO x64 support as of yet. Back to my original question... IS support for Office 2013 x64 planned to be implemented (even in a limited way) anytime in the near foreseeable future?
Or... what is the name of the mail add-on so I can try to add in manually under Outlook's COM add-ins feature?
Thanks.

you sould check back on the fourms for updates has norton can not tell you when they will have new updates has far has i no this has all ways been the rule
??
Not sure I understand your answer. The question was... are there plans to add x64 support for Office 2013 (specifically Outlook) anytime in the near future? Need to know if it even on Symantec's drawing table?
If you do not know the answer, then please do not answer... more useful to leave the thread open & allow somone who does to answer. I simply need to know if I should wait, or if I should switch to Kaspersky, which has supported x64 fully for well over a year now. As of now, Norton is not protecting me - I receive e-mails far more often than I install software, so that's obviously where any infections are likely to come from...
Also need to know the path & filename of the Outlook plug-in within the Norton installation folder so that I can attempt to add manually.
Thanks.
P.S.
Really amazed that Symantec, who claims to be a leader on the security field, is SO behind everyone else... you really missed the x64 boat you guys.
