Surface Pro 2 keyboard not working

Hey all,

I'm comparing Kaspersky with Symantec but when I install Symantec none of the keyboards work on the sign-in app. so I cannot start Nortons.

Any ideas??

Regards.

The OP has already confirmed that the keyboard works for everything except the Norton app.

Yes, keyboard works on everything but nortons.

Hello bchris,

When it comes to your "newly installed win10", you may give the following 2 posts a try:

[Edit: ]

a. Troubleshoot your Surface Cover

b.

Plug in your Touch Cover
Power off the Surface Pro
Hold Volume Up and the Power button for 10 seconds

Release buttons
Wait 5-10 seconds
Power on the Surface

Thanks.

You could contact Norton Customer Support and see if they can help you::

Yes, keyboard works on everything but nortons.

I re-installed as you suggested, It allowed me to enter my email address at first but not my password, now nothing can be entered.

thanks for your help with this, it seems a bit all too hard.....

I'm sorry if these questions seem silly but I just want to make sure we're on the same page.

So your keyboard works in browsers and elsewhere, just not Norton?

If it was my machine I'd download and run the Norton Removal Tool from my link above, restart and try installing again.

If you need a fresh copy of Norton you can grab the installer from these links.

Other than that you may get more ideas from other members.

Cheers.

yes to all of the above...

When you say, "I install Symantec none of the keyboards work on the sign-in app", you mean on the Norton GUI, right?  Have you tried an external USB keyboard?  What about the Touch Keyboard built into Windows 10?

I'm just about out of ideas at this point.

zero, fresh os install win10.

OK.  What AV was installed before Norton and how was it removed?

Thanks.

I only have one installed, thats nortons. Kasp. is installed on another system.

I hope you don't have both installed together?  That will cause all sorts of problems.  You should install one only, then uninstall it using that product's removal tool.  In the case of Norton that is the Norton Removal Tool.

Here's the Kaspersky tool.  https://support.kaspersky.com/common/service

It might pay to uninstall both AVs and start your testing again with a clean slate.
