eBay is not aware of any problems and is blaming Norton 360 for these issues .

Please advise.

TIA

I’m having the same issue with an auction that I put on eBay but have been using Norton Internet Security for a few years now.

Phishing protection has never come on except for in the past 1-2 weeks. Now coming on with my own auction? Something isn’t right.

Hi indoorwthrman-

I sent you a private message (PM) with a request to collect some information on your system - you can access your PM's by clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right corner of the community forum page.

Hello-

A server data update has been completed to address the issue with higher occurrence of phishing false positive errors for N360v2, NIS08.5, and NIS08 products.  (N360v3, NIS2009, N360v1, and NIS07 did not experience this error)

New antiphishing / web protection definitions should be available now or shortly; if you run Live Update and restart all browsers, you should see the problem resolved.

I am using 360 updated yesterday and am still getting this problem so it is obviously not fixed.

I can go to www.google.com no problem, but if I then go to www.google.com/ig I get  "Suspicious Web Page Blocked". I have been on this site several giga-million times and use it as my start up page. Why doesn't Norton have a way to add this as a safe site? If it does, I can't find out where in the docs!

Hi Renee--

You can access the Norton settings UI, then turn off Norton Antiphishing.  It should prompt you with a dialog with some options for how long to keep it off.  I recommend choosing something long enough to let you finish your work.

After that, launch a new browser instance and you should not receive any suspicious website blocking messages.

Hi,

I am trying to edit my Joomla site and keep getting this message when I try to add a new module.

I need to stop this from happening urgently so that I can complete this project.  Unfortunately, I cannot give you access to the exact page because you need to be logged in as an administrator to see it.  However, the site is currently located at: http://gator1114.hostgator.com/~petecook/financialindepenceclub.com.au/

What is the solution?  Can I add this as a safe site some how?  Or can I disable Norton so that I can do my job?  I haven't been able to find a way to do either of these.

Thanks,

Renee

I cant see the issue without a test account and this may not be something you should establish in a public forum. You could provide the information via Private Message. Otherwise, stay tuned and perhaps someone else will spot the issue from your original post.

Hi,

When you turn Antiphishing setting to OFF, it would allow you to browse the page by default and it won't block.

But please make sure you open the URL in a new browser closing all the opened session after changing AP to OFF.

Can you please try running LU once and restart the machine and try to browse the site.

But would like to tell you that unless we detect something in your page as suspicious we block them. We usually do a heuristic analysis on the URL if we find it to be suspicious based on the ratings we receive from our internal server.

There are many phishing URL's which try to imitate the paypal's site. You can find many such URL's at www.phishtank.com. The URL's would be a kind of redirect page to paypal where you automatically become a prey to phishers. So we just request you to be cautious whenever we block them as suspicious.

But incase if you are sure that they are not suspicious, you can try clicking continue to site anyway(can understand this doesn't work right for you currently, but in case if things are fine) and click on report site from toolbar and report the site as safe site. We would re-analyse the page again and would rate the URL again.

Regards,

Prasanna.
