I had this happen this morning:
Symantec Email Proxy deleted the following email message
I have Norton Internet Security 18.5 installed with the latest signatures.
The email was from chase.com and was legitimate. Since I don't have emails deleted from the source, I went to my Web Mail and forwarded the message again and then Microsoft Outlook retrieve the message. It came through without a problem, HTML content and all. The only difference being the FROM address, which I have received numerous emails from before.
My concerns are the following, if NIS is doing this:
-- Why isn't there an entry in the NIS logs reflecting that the email was issue.
-- Why doesn't Symantec just put the email in the Junk Folder provided by Outlook.
-- I can't disable Email Protection, without having NIS putting warnings to "FIX NOW".
Support just wants to remote control my machine since they don't have a clue.
