Symantec Service Framework encountered a problem and needed to close

I have our corporate supplied Symanted Endpoint Protect 12.1.1000.157 installed on five computers in a classified lab on Windows XP.  It works fine on three computers.  On the two Dell T7500 computer it won't run scans without failing and popping up with a window that says, "Symantec Service Framework encountered a problem and needed to close".  If I restart the computer, it starts back up fine and will let me run a manual scan.  But it apparently errs out sometime after that so that no more scans get run during the week.

 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarting between each step, but the error keeps returning.  The only difference I see on the machines, is that on the other three machines, I have two folders under Program Files:  Symantec and Symantec Endpoint Protection.  On the two T7500's, I have one folder: Symantec with Symantec Endpoint Protection inside it.

 

I've been trying to solve this for weeks so I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
