Yesterday I uninstalled a competing product to NIS and installed NIS 2010 from CD.
It pulled down many updates and then seemed to be running fine.
This morning when I ran live update manually it said 5 updates were available, and when I pulled them down it asked if I wanted to reboot now or later. I said now....
I did the reboot and got an error after login:
"Symantec Service Framework has stopped working...."
APPCRASH
ccSvcHst.exe / SYMHTML.DLL
I am running Vista Ultimate
NIS 2010 currently reports I have V 17.5.0.127 I don't know what it would have been before the 5 updates I applied this AM.
I rebooted again, and all "appears" OK....
Can I stop worrying?
I note that this error is in the "top 10" list on the website and the suggested fix is to uninstall and re-install, but I have used all of my 3-count licenses. If I were to uninstall/reinstall does the DRM think I'm a pirate or do I get 15 days to clear things up with support or ????
