I just installed Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac. After installation, the machine reboots. After login, the setup assistant runs, asks for a few choices, then when I hit the "finish" button, the assistant crasehs and reports a dump. It never successfully completes. Any ideas? This is OSX Lion and it's all up to date.

I have a similar problem. the Symantec Setup Assistant (for version 5) doesn't complete successfuly and runs each time I reboot my MacBook Pro. Despite the fact that the Setup Assistant doesn't complete. The product runs successfully as if it has (other than the fact that Setup Assistance runs and fails each time I reboot). I've updated to 5.1 and have the same problem.
1. When your Mac restarts, open the Console application (in your Utilities folder).
2. In Console, click on Diagnostic & Usage messages.
3. Run the Setup Assistant and try to complete it.
4. When it fails go back to Console and see if there are any messages. If not, try clicking on system.log in Console, and look for any messages there. If you see anything that looks like it came from the Setup Assistant, post it here.
5. In the Finder, go to /Library/LaunchAgents.
6. Delete the file com.symantec.nis.setupasst.plist by putting it in the Trash. You'll need to enter your password.
7. Restart your Mac.
The Setup Assistant will not show up this time.
I'll admit, the first couple of steps are there just to figure out what's going wrong.
