Symantecs Spyware & virus removal service

this service is abysmal!

first they were removing the virus and lost control of the computer. i had to restart it, which it did. Next time they asked me to restart it i ended up with a black screen and could do nothing.

they asked to ring me back the next day between 8.30 and 9 am

next day at 10.30 after i had gone to the online chat they finally rang me. could not start it.

escallated the call and would call back in 24-48hrs!

didn't!

after i went to the online chat again, finally rang me.

would not give supervisors name, email address or complaints email address

computer still doesn't work.

I'm a pensioner, i paid A$240 and still don't have a working computer.
someone please give me an email address so i can at least get my money back, cause i sure need to get the computer to someone competent.

This service is abysmal!

it is run through India, only contactable by online chat, when they do call you back it's only after 48hrs and you have hassled them to do so; and THEN they got me to load another version of XP (which they crashed, NOT the virus), so i now have 2 versions on the computer and probable clashes.

I have had to take it to the local repairman (which i should have done in the first place) and now i have to try to get my A$250 dollars back from you.

How i don't know as you are virtually uncontactable!

Hello Fedup2,

Sorry about your experieces with Symantec Virus Removal Service.

The User Forums are not tied in to the same system that Symantec Virus Removal Service uses, so we will be unable to assist you with this. However, we can point you in the right direction. In order to deal with any type of billing issues, you need to Contact Customer Service

It is possible that whatever Virus you had corrupted your system. This is very frequent with infections. This is why viruses are so deadly to computer systems. However, I would speak with Customer Service regarding this and keep us updated with any resolution.

thank you for your reply

After the last phone call from India, i told them i wanted my money back as i had taken my computer to the local repair man. they referred me to Customer Relations, who have rung back and are refunding my money as well as retraining the technician.

Unfortunately, this experience of not being able to contact Symantec/Norton directly and having the extended waiting times (5 days all told) has resulted in my buying AGV which i will use from now on.
