SYMeFA64,sys corrupted causing Windows 7 BSOD

Hi,

I have a windows 7 box that won't boot into safe mode or any other mode.

The error is that SYMEFA64.sys is corrupted and all i get then is system repair can't fix this problem.

Other posts seem to indicate that I need to remove NAV to get rid of this problem.

How can I run the un-install programs,when I can't boot into windows?

The system ran fine up until a few days ago then started slowing down and locking up at login or first app opened.
Now today it went down and the only errors I get is that SYMEFA64.sys is corrupted.

Thanks,

Chris

Yes, I saw that post, it requires you to boot into safe mode and run a scan.

I can 't get this to come up in safe mode even.

So still stuck looking for a solution.

Hi Chris3

When you built your Win7 system did you create a Win 7 Recovery Disk that you could now use to boot and attempt a repair of the sytem?

Where did he say he built it? I didnt see that?

When I instaled the win7 os, I had the windows 7 backup disk. So far attempts at using the repair utility on that have also
failed.

Unless there is some command line magic, the standard wizards haven't been able to repair the corrupt image.

It was a question designed to ascertain whether OP did build the system which OP has now confirmed.
