Synology DS920+ blocked by VPN

Hi

just recently I have been noticing that the VPN seems to be blocking access to my Synology DS920+. I don't want have the bother hassle of a split I just need devices on my intranet to be recognised. I am running the latest versions of windows 10 and the NAS's OS (DSM). Any ideas would be most appreciated as I haven't found a suitable solution in other threads.

I am new to this part of network management so your patience would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

just a quick update, I added my MS office apps, word, excel etc to the split tunnel along with file explorer. Now there are no problems seeing my NAS drive.

Many thanks for your excellent advice.

Hi,

thanks for your quick and comprehensive reply. I have not added my DS 920+ (nas drive) to the split tunnel so I will give that a go failing that I will have a look at the links you suggested. Either way, I will send an update when I have more info.

Hello. First question is have your previously added the Synology DS920+ to your VPN split-tunnel feature? I assume that you had as the opening post suggest that may be the case. My second question is, are you using the VPN to access your intranet? If so why? Your port forwarding in your router should allow access locally. Having outside access should also be monitored there as well.

Local device access, please give the suggestions in this article a look as well:
