System lockups with Norton Internet Security 2011, version 18.5.0.125

I have been seeing alot on this forum regarding lockups using 18.5.0.125, but have seen NO RESOLUTION!!!!!! Can someone from Symantec please respond as to the status of fixing this problem?

 

I have gone through the all of the suggested resolutions, including using the removal tool, etc. and am still getting the lockups. This is on my wife's system and she is screaming bloody murder at me about this every couple of days. She has an HP Netbook with Windows XP, Service pack 3 (all updates installed) and has the 18.5.0.125 version of NIS 2011 installed.

 

I've even gone so far as to turn off all automatic scans, but the lockups are still happening.

 

Please help. I have spent an inordanent amount of time and grief on this problem and am at my witt's end. Seems like every year some major problem happens with a new subscription/version update. This is getting really old.
