Hi,
I recently bought Ghost 14 to move my Vaio laptop system onto a new (bigger) HDD as I was short of space.
Unfortunately, ghost would not install due to lack of space, and during a cleanup of expendable applications I received an error message of corrupt MBR and lost my C partition contents as a result.
I have been able to restore my system from the factory installed recovery partition, obviously losing all my apps in the process, fortunately, my data was on the unaffected D partition!
The drive is arranged as follows : -
Recovery partition - BASIC, NTFS, EISA Configuration, Primary Partition, 6.99Gb
C drive partition - BASIC, NTFS, System, Primary Partition, 13.97Gb
D drive partition - BASIC, NTFS, Logical Drive, 16.29Gb
I have been told by Sony that if I clone the entire drive, the recovery partition will no longer work on the new drive, as it is specific to the physical drive installed, this may or may not be correct.
What I want to do is divide my new drive in a similar manner to the old one, but instead of cloning the Sony partition, create a bootable partition with Ghost installed and a system image and/or incremental backup.
Now this is where I encounter the problem, I dont want to phone tech support or chat with an analyst online, I just want to email them, I have been a service engineer in the past and I hate being 'put on the spot' for a solution, and would prefer to get a 'considered' solution to my problem.
The tech support page says Chat, Phone or email, but I cannot find an address anywhere!
So, if someone out there can give me the necessary instructions to do what I want then thankyou, alternatively, does anyone know the email address!
Cheers
