Hi Guys,
I've successfully backed up my C: drive and system partition from my original HDD and restored to an SSD. It all works fine.
I just have a couple of anomalies that maybe someone here knows about. Possibly it's the same problem for both:
1) When I reconnect the old C: drive, the system partition is still there (the 100MB system partition), but I'm unable to delete it. When I use Win7's Disk Management tool, it doesn't give me an option to delete the partition. However, when I right click on the new 100MB system partition, I get the option to delete it.
2) When I look at the properties for the old 100MB partition, it shows "System, Active, Primary Partition", but the new 100MB system partition shows "Active, Primarity Partition".
I suspect this difference in status is why I can delete the actual partition I'm using, and why I can't delete the one I'm not using. But I don't see how to make the change. Anyone know what's up with this?
Thanks,
Mike
PS: The SSD rocks. It's totally worth the cost and effort to get it going.
