I'm running Windows Vista and a 90-day free version of Norton Internet Security that came with a new hard drive. When I try to run a System Restore, I receive a message that it failed due to "unspecified reasons." I see others have the same problem and they claim it's due to a "Norton Product Tamper Protection" function. There are detailed instructions for turning it off, but the directions don't correspond to my version. I'm wondering if "Auto-Protect" in Settings > Virus and Spyware Options is the equivalent function. Or maybe the problem is something completely different. Thanks for your help.
