Tamper detection onlinefamily.norton is not running--why not? what now?

This product is such a great idea...what a great help to parents!  We are pretty new to the product so I have a few questions...

I have 2 reports from this morning stating tamper detection and onlinefamily.norton is not running.  The first time is during a timeframe when my son had access to the computer--however he is 6 years old and only has limited profile on his log-in--could he have somehow disabled it accidently or on purpose?....could it happen by itself?  How do I get it hooked back up again?  The second time listed from this morning was a time when my son was at school.

Also I am having the problem of child logging back in again after being logged off--it would be a nice feature to be able to just block access after time limit is reached...maybe make it an option for those children for whom parents aren't worried about them losing information from some Word document.

I've gotten the same "tamper detection" error and onlinefamily won't run on my computer.  Could someone help?

Could you answer the following questions, please:

 

1.  How old is your child?

2.  Does your child have their own computer?

3.  What type of Windows User Account does your child have(Admin, Limited, or Standard)?

4.  Did the service work for any period of time before you received the Tamper Detection notification?

5.  Could you please provide more detail regarding your statement that 'onlinefamily won't run on your computer'?

I have the same problem.

 

1. 16

2. Yes he has its own computer

3. XP SP3 limited account

4. I think so but I'm not sure

5. I see in the activity log the message: Tamper Detection - OnlineFamily.Norton is not running.

 

PS. I've installed on 3 pc's but only one has this problem.

 

Do you have some ideas?

You mentioned “I've installed on 3 pc's but only one has this problem”.  Could you tell what the differences between this pc and the other two (without this issue) are with the following information or any other differences that you can think of?

 

1.Type of Operating System and version(Windows XP, Vista, Mac, etc…)

2.Type of Web Browser and version(IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc)

3.Type of user account that the child has on the system(Admin, Limited, Standard…)

4.Safety Minder Version (you can determine this by right clicking on the Norton Safety Minder icon in the System tray and selecting About Norton Safety Minder)

5.Any other Symantec/Norton product installed (please provide version information)

6.Any other Anti-Virus or Security product installed (please provide version information)
