I have been horned to participate in Norton Utilities beta testing long time ago and always considered Norton as high quality products.
it’s definitely played a role in my decision to buy Norton 360 this year.
First problem was that I couldn’t activate Norton Utilities and after spending lots of time with support the problem was not resolved. I assumed that my Windows settings were to blame, however today tried on a clean Windows and yet again couldn’t activate the product.
!? How do you like this! Hard to believe - product failed to be activated …
Second issue was after upgrading Mac OS X to Big Sur - FaceTime camera would not work. Lot’s of users here had the same issue. I was asking tech support to confirm when the problem will be fixed with not a lot of success. Then tried online chat. Tried remote connection tech help, and remote agent was unable to connect :(
Tech support seems to be repeating same troubleshooting questions and it feels that they don’t really have skills to help you. Waste of time!
What a disappointment it is Norton quality and bad tech support !

As chudak FaceTime stopped working after updating to Big Sur 11.2 on my MacBook Pro apparently due to conflict with Norton 360. After reading Norton Community posts I was hoping release of version Norton 360 8.6.2 would solve it, but it hasn't. Apple are also aware of this issue but Big Sur now up to 11.2.3 so two subsequent Apple updates haven't solved it either.
If it is in fact a Norton Server error, there is nothing we can help with. When you contacted support, did they see this error 4 message?
Are you downloading NUP from your Norton Account? Log into your Account and click on the user icon at the top right. Then click on My Subscriptions. Look for the NUP subscription and click on the Download link by that subscription. Follow the directions to install on your device.
It shows Error XXX and that can't connect to the activation server. We tried connecting via iPhone hotspot to exclude network issue and lots of other things with no luck.
If you are still trying to activate NUP on your Windows systems, try entering your product key here. https://my.norton.com/home/setup That resolved an issue I had activating NUP.
I had two major issues initially: FaceTime did not work on Big Sur Mac OS and Norton Utilities (NU) were not able to activate on Windows 10 (two systems).
I spent ~4 hours on a phone discussing the FaceTime issue. What was frustrating, that Norton reps were insisting that they know how to solve the problem, but in fact, had no clue and just were collecting data and logs. Every time when they need to download/upload a file, it took literally 20-30 min! After all I was left with no solution and promise that the FaceTime will be fixed 3/18/21 in version 8.6.2. On my question via the FB Messenger to confirm that this version was indeed released, I got no answer so far.
The second issue - also spent ~1.5 h on the phone, the rep couldn't not activate NU (hard to believe !!!), collected logs files, again it was painful uploading and said I will get a resolution in 48-72 hours. It was last Sunday and a solution is to be still found, no work from Norton.
