Tech Support

Tech Support:  My PC keeps giving the message, "High disk usage", then this message, 707 MB total for this process.  Anyone know what to do about this?

Hi k2nnj,

You can obtain tech support for free over here if you are in the US (chat):

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

For UK chat:

http://www.symantec.com/en/uk/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

Open your Norton Product's main window, click on the Help & Support -> Get Support menu, and follow the instructions on the screen. When it is done, select Contact us (bottom), and select Chat Support. Support guys will be available for you in a little time.

Seaborne,

Can you please send me Private Message with your Support Reference Number, what your original issue was, and your telephone number? I'll get someone to contact you.

Great, now my phone's battery is dead. Anybody got suggestions for alternate software firms?

Please provide the information requested by Tim.  If you are able to communicate via PC, I'm certain they can assist you in one way or another.

And when you finish that, contact Norton Tech Support using chat; they will respect the same case number and be able to continue helping -- perhaps even better since they can (with your permission) work directly with your computer.

There is no Tech Support here, just your fellow users.  Norton is configured to tell you when another process is causing high disk usage.  It allows you to keep track of what is using a lot of your resources.  This probably does not indicate a problem, as some programs use high resources for only short periods of time.  It should have told you what program was using it.  This may have always happened.  The difference is that now Norton is telling you about it.
