Temporarily disabling anti virus

I have a download that I would like to open that is blocked by Norton. How can I bypass the block? I have Norton 360, version 5.0

You can disable the Download Intelligence option and then see whether you can download the file. Here is how you can do it:

 

1. Start Norton 360.

2. Click Settings.

3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

4. In the Firewall window, click the Intrusion and Browser Protection tab.

5. Turn off Download Intelligence.

6. Click Apply.

7. In the security alert window, select the duration, and click ok.

8. Click Close.

To add to the other very good comments I would only say that you should be very, very sure that you know the program will not cause harm. Unlocking the door to let the wolf in can be an invitation to disaster.
