Text messages - Norton prevents texting from MacBook Pro and iPad

Texting was blocked on my MacBook Pro (Big Sur) beginning in Oct.  Then, after installing Norton on my iPad, texting was blocked on that device as well.  Please advise as to how to allow texting on both devices.
