Hi All
First let me preface this by saying that I am not asking what the Toredo Tunneling pseudo interface is. So if your inclination is to tell me what it is, and to reassure me that it is normal, then you have not read or understood my question. I know that under normal circumstances, it is thought to be normal, but in this case, I dont think it actually is.
Here's what happened: My norton security log was all standard and boring (from the date i got my computer - nothing out of the ordinary at all), until about midnight on 3/11, when norton supposedly blocked 2 attacks on my system (the only details given about the attacks were the IP addresses - the same one both times). Then shortly after that, I started getting bombarded with the repeated (and I mean repeated every minute or two. it's really rediculous) message that norton is protecting my "connection to newly detected network adapter toredo tunneling pseudo-interface" , and then that im no longer connected to that network, and then that i am again connected to it, etc...all day long. Now again, I read other people's posts asking about this Toredo warning and the answers they got, pretty much cross the board, was that it is normal, and its perfectly fine - But I have never gotten this type of thing before, and I find it hard - no, actually, I find it impossible to believe that it would coincidentally begin right after 2 back-to-back attacks on my system.
So, I have to assume that there was a third attack that got around Norton, and now its doing something to my system that is making the real or maybe fake connections/disconnections to this Toredo tunneling thing. I started to read about security issues and viruses involving the toredo tunneling pseudo interface (it was about what they called "man-in-the-middle-attacks"). I got a bit of the way through it and decided to post here instead, as it seemed to be more of a description of the issue, rather than a solution to it. So, my question is: If it is a virus, then what could it be? What could it be doing to my computer? and of course, what do I do about it? Any advice as to how to kill this thing (whatever it is) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
