Thread for version 24.xx issues and suggestions

hi @bjm !

thanks for your answer :smiley:
i can in fact use this file insight, thanks for the little tip, I didn’t see it

but wasn’t there a process explorer which gave us the oppurtinity to have such details about the process that were active in the old norton ?

Bonjour,

I just tried visiting https://patchmypc.com/ with this new Norton installed and it was blocked by Safe Web. Not the extension, the security feature built into v24. I’ve tried adding it as an exclusion but that does not work.

Both:

https://patchmypc.com/*

&

http://patchmypc.com/*

Any ideas?

 So, how to whitelist it? Exclusions don’t work.

Hello @Krusty13

try adding https://new.patchmypc.com/*

That seems to work, but funny enough, if I try going to that address the website throws a “404 Not Found”. Just visiting patchmypc.com seems to work though.

@MomOfARocker

Hi there. It’s amazing how many different problems people are having with this horrible version 24 that was forced upon us. So far for me, the software updater runs, as does Live update, even though I have them set to manual. In fact Live Update runs roughly 6-8 times a day, sometimes minutes apart. The whole ‘security history’ module is all messed up. I would be doing myself a big favor staying out of there. Other than that stuff, I haven’t found any other issues. Then again, I don’t use the VPN or the cloud backup which tons of people are having issues with on this thread, so I can’t comment on any of that.

As for your issues with both your Norton Safe Web and your bookmarks

NSW: I never had my icon disappear, and like you, I’m currently running V133.0 in Fx. BYW, my FX is my default browser. Edge is not used often. I gather you noticed that I mentioned to you that Norton Safe Web hasn’t been updated in 13 months. It used to be updated on a regular basis of roughly every other month. So I don’t know how effective it is at this point. It has turned grey a couple of times on certain web sites. BTW, I also want to mention, like you, I’m not using any other Norton extensions.
Bookmarks: You’ve got me there. There appears to be nothing wrong with my Firefox 133. If I had your issue, the first thing I would do, is restart my computer, which is Windows 10 pro, then I would start firefox in ‘safe mode’ (which disables all your extensions, themes, etc) the next time you have trouble bookmarking. If that doesn’t do the trick, I would uninstall Firefox (leaving your profile which resides in the hidden ‘app data’ folder within the ‘Mozilla folder’, and then reinstall Firefox. If THAT doesn’t help, then I would start playing with different profiles. Have you ever created another profile and gone back and forth? Anyway, that’s further down the line. I’m just taking an educated guess, but I don’t think Norton, is continually causing the bookmarking issue. It may have triggered it though. The reason I say that is because after reading through the majority of this very long post, I haven’t read anything about Firefox issues. So, if you wish, you can try my suggestions and see if one of them does the trick.
If you wish to talk further please make sure you highlight my user name. I didn’t get an email notification that you had written to me this time, I just ran into it. Good luck!

@SoulAsylum- Hi SA Thanks so much for the print screen you put up for me so I could find ‘The Dark Web’ module. I don’t have the same tabs you do. Surprised??? I’m running Version 24.11.9615. Have a look;

if I can upload my screen shot. I don’t have an “identity” tab on the left.
I’m sorry for my late arrival. I never received an email notification you had written me, I just ran upon it while scrolling through.

Bonjour @majorbuzz

A titre d’information, j’ai rencontrĂ© le mĂȘme problĂšme (voir citation ci-dessus) que la mise Ă  jour 24.11.9615.891 a rĂ©solu.

Silent Mode is gone. What a disaster. Rep after rep makes up a different story each time — it’s being added back, it’s actually there, we’ll download the old version. Does anyone have any input?

SA, I’m still on version 22 and my chart looks the same type as what you showed in your post above. I, too, thought there were supposed to be graphs for CPU load and RAM usage.

Trying to upload the screenshot of this, but I keep getting this message:

Sorry, there was an error uploading N360 Performance Graph.png. Please try again.

I like how right clicking to have Norton scan a single file/folder doesn’t even work anymore. No matter how many times I do it, no Norton window pops up.

@JorgeA Have you tried to copy and drop past the screenshot into a reply?

SA

@Gribouille342 - Hi Gribouill342
I am running the same build that you are 24.11.9615.891
 but still no Identity tab is showing.

OK, here goes

no dice. Getting the same error. I would upload and post an image of the error, but of course that would mean that the image posting function was working! :upside_down_face:

I’m trying a different way, posting the image to IMGUR and then providing the link: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Your screenshot. Are you using a VPN when coming to the forums?

I get the following graph under “Usage” as selected in the left column!!

SA

Bonsoir,

Merci pour votre retour.

Je suis dĂ©solĂ©e pour vous. Peut-ĂȘtre qu’une rĂ©installation “propre” rĂ©soudrait votre problĂšme. Je ne peux pas le garantir malheureusement.
