Yesterday Norton Internet security detected a threat on my PC but was unable to remove it. Alongside the infected file name Norton has the message ‘Access Denied.’ This is strange because when I look at the file permissions I found I have permission to delete the file and can do so myself.
The threat was identified as SAPE.Heir.685.
Norton provided a link and when
I follow that it recommends downloading and running Run Norton Power Eraser then cautions that Power Eraser uses aggressive methods.
So, since I can delete the file myself Should I or will Norton Power Eraser do more than than simply erase the file? Will it maybe, for example, search for and correct changes SAPE.Heir.685 had made to my system?
Thanks
