NIS 2012. I have the tracking cookies setting set to Ask Me.
After a scheduled full system scan, the threat dialog box to fix tracking cookies doesn't show immediately.
It did show immediately until a recent Live Update. Now it doesn't.
I can wait an hour, and then when I want to use my PC for something else,
the NIS threat dialog box appears right when I don't want to see it.
Seems to appear when it detects that the PC is no longer idle.
Add this to the long list of user unfriendly changes made because Symantec wanted to move everything related to a scheduled full system scan into the background.
All you see now is the temporary small pop up that indicates that the scan has started.
You don't know the progress (unless you take several steps going into the settings to manually open the progress window), you don't know when it ends, and you don't immediately know the results.
At the very least, Symantec should add a link in the system tray right click menu that easily brings up the progess window during a scan. And it would need to show results from before the window is opened. Right now if you go into the settings to manually open the scan progress window, if threats (tracking cookies) are found before the window is opened, they are not shown.
Right now, the only full system scan that works correctly in most respects, is a manual full system scan.
Horrible upgrade.
