I've had Norton for years, but am just now taking advantage of the Online Family option. It can be a valuable tool, but I'm seeing from threads several issues regarding going over extended time. Mine is along the same line -- I see "Time restrictions have been disabled until the next login or restart. Norton Safety Minder was disabled on a computer," If the restrctions are disable, this tool is only half as valuable.
I'm not sure why this is as Time Supervision is set to "On" at Settings. Is there something I can do to resolve this remotely. I'm at work and my child is at home.
You may need to get to your child's computer to verify the issue. Check if your Norton Safety Minder plug in is disabled in your child's account. Login in to your child's user account and try browsing the net and stuff for a while and see if you are getting the notifications. If you are still getting the notifications, even while you are using the account, you can be sure that your child is not manipulating the settings and the issue is some how related with the Norton Safety Minder client. If you suspect the issue with your Norton safety minder client, remove Norton Online Family from your computer and reinstall properly. This time, make sure you are configuring it correctly. If you are not getting the safety minder disabled notification and time restrictions disabled notification while you are browsing, change your Norton Online Family password. You can change the password from your Norton Online Family site after clicking on "manage account". And remember, if you are changing the password for your Norton Online Family, note that your Norton Account password will also be changed as both of them are using the same account only.
