NF on my son's PC (Win 7) is configured to allow access during a certain time of day and for a specific duration. The complaint was that NF blocks him immediately upon login, indicating that time expired. When I checked the log, the entry indicated that login was attempted during curfew although the time stamp was within the allowed time block. To troubleshoot, I was on his PC, and logged into my Windows administrator account. I logged into my online NF user account, and verified all the information as correct. I tried several times to save and update house rules but the block persisted when he logged into his own user account. To try something different, in the NF user account I modified one of the limits on the curfew block, saved, and managed to get the count down going on his allowed time when shown in View Time Remaining. Then, while logged into my online NF user account from his Windows user account (to observe the effect of my changes without having to swap users) I extended the allowed duration, saved, updated house rules, but the count down time is not changing. I even moved the curfew block to simulate a violation, saved, updated house rules, but the countdown is continuing. It simply seems that NF is not updating the house rules (although it indicates that house rules are up to date). Logging out and into his Windows user account had no effect.
I am little frustrated as I am not sure what house rules the NF client on the PC is seeing (it says they are updated but who knows?). The View My House Rules feature provided with the client is thoroughly uninformative. I believe that it would not take much to include a brief description of the curfew schedule and time limits, both to let kids check the schedule and to help in troubleshooting.
Thank you in advance for any help!
