I'm remotely monitoring a PC for a friend and am setting time restrictions. We are 6 hours apart, time zone wise. He was able to go into his computer and change the time setting on his local computer enabling him to bypass the time restrictions. Then when all was put back to the proper time, the time restriction that was set didn't work properly. The online settings were set to restrict from 00:00 to 06:00. However, his computer shut him down at noon although his computer clearly showed it as 12:00 (earlier when talked to him when he got the warning the PC showed 11:45 am., the correct time). I disabled, then, time restrictions online and the computer still activated the time restrictions. He reset the computer and still is says he is restricted, although all the settings on the web site (my end) are unrestricted.
Looking for a solution!
Thanks.
If a monitored account is an administrator account, as opposed to a limited account, then the child can change the clock, which can affect curfew times. It's usually a good idea for child accounts to be limited accounts and not administrator accounts.
If time restrictions include a daily allowance of time, then only that amount of time can be spent on the computer, regardless of what the local time is. which may help to mitigate the problems of changing the local time.
There is ususally a small delay in recalculating changed time restrictions, which can take up to 5 minutes to be refreshed.
The user can log in and select the "update my house rules" option from the tray icon to get updated settings from the website.
Additionally, it would be interesting to see from the child's perspective, what the time restrictions are. This can be done by selecting the "View Time Remaining" option from the tray icon.
Thanks,
