So I’ve recently done a reinstall of Windows 7 64 bit and also reinstalled Norton. However, every time that I go to run liveupdate, it would give me that message. I’ve restarted multiple times, yet the message remains. Any fixes?
Hi iamconfused,
Welcome to Norton Community!
This problem can happen due to problem during installation of Norton product. Download and run the Norton Remove & Reinstall tool to uninstall/reinstall your Norton product:

Thanks for the help. After reading up on the remove and reinstall tool it says that, it’d be different if I got it from my service provider. I have Comcast version of Norton 360 v5. Before I installed that, I did an image restore of Windows 7 and installed v4 of Norton 360 first. I also had to do a manually update of the definitions because of some error updating. Then, I removed v4 with Norton’s Removal Tool because there was trouble activating that version. So I checked up online and installed the latest version which activated nicely and am now given this error. I guess I will try again and use the removal tool to uninstall v5 and try again.

I knew I shoujld have used my boilerplate on what you have ... that asks if you have the COMCAST version.
If that is what you are trying to reinstall and activate would you please confirm that so that your messages can be moved over to the Other Norton Procducts Forum here where the COMCAST versions are dealt with.
You'll get better exposure. You won't lose sight of it because a link will be left here.
