Howdy y'all,
For many years I have read that having more than one resident real-time scanner is a bad idea - slows down the PC and they can actually interfere with the other's ability to check files as they are downloaded and accessed.
Then again, I've read various credible sources recommending more than one real-time protection program be running together (MBAM and MSE are often suggested together).
Right now on my b*dass new laptop, I have NIS (22.5.0.124), MBAM (2.1.8.1057) & HitmanPro Alert (3.0.48.196) all doing their stuff in real time.
Each of these are well respected malware protection programs - each with different focus and strengths.
They all seem to be working fine - I can certainly detect a small degradation in performance - but nothing that bothers me too much
My questions are:
- Does the community have any opinions on whether running these multiple programs is improving or degrading my protection compared to just running NIS ?
- Is there any way of thoroughly testing that they are working correctly ?
Cheers
