Torrent App prohibiting VPN to turn on

2024-02-15 - I was unable to test-run 360's VPN due to a torrent app running someplace (on three machines).  I don't normally use torrents.  Searching Sysinternals P.E. for "torrent" produced nothing.  Turns out it was Free Download Manager, without FDM even being the default torrent app.  I temporarily uninstalled FDM, which allowed me to run 360's VPN.

Sadly, 360's VPN has atrocious throughput.  My d/l speed slows to 190, while without a VPN it's ~800 (Spectrum, @ 1000) [using SpeedTest app].  Even with CyberGhost it's ~700.  Given that 360 has no obvious settings to massage, I'll stick with FDM & CyberGhost.

Some download managers can do torrents and that can affect it as well as some p2p sharing apps.  You would have to go through any apps you use that download from the internet and check if they support torrents
