Two questions (from a person with no IT knowledge).
a) Is it possible for someone to infiltrate my computer (and track it) after contacting me my telephone? A few years ago, an IT worker I was acquainted with inexplicably knew private details (ie a forum identity/nic). He contacted me for the first time in two years ONE DAY after I installed a new home computer, left a message on my answering machine asking me to call and then ignored me when I did - twice.
b) After buying Norton for my new computer my connection was constantly disrupted with continual crashes that expert line technicians couldn't understand. As a last resort, I was advised to register my router - my previous one died soon after installing Norton antivirus. I could only register the new router after clicking on on a pre-existing password. All crashes promptly stopped. Second question: Is it possible to track a computer by somehow commandeering a router?
I'd appreciate any explanation.
