Whenever I run a full system scan on NIS 2009, a tracking cookie is found and removed but when I restart my computer and run another Full System Scan, another tracking cookie is found and removed. The same thing happens over and over again.
If I am on the internet, I go to websites that I normally visit and know they are secure, and run another system scan, another tracking cookie is found. I find this very frustrating because I've visited these sites in the past and Norton never found a tracking cookie in the scan in the past.
When I select the drop down arrow in the resolved risks section, a tracking cookie contains about 21-23 cookies and I find this very hard to believe if I visit websites I know are safe and trust.
Really the danger of tracking cookies has been overdramatized. Yes tracking cookies are bad because they can track your browsing habits. However, the formal definition by which most security programs scan for them is that they are any cookie that sends data back to a certain number of sites.
I to often find tracking cookies on my computer after visiting sites one would think are safe and reputable, but often that is because they fit the formal definition by which they are identified and not because they are trying to montior my every move and infringe on my privacy.
You can also get tracking cookies via programs which cover their costs by displaying ad banners when you open them, e.g. Yahoo Instant Messenger. My NIS always finds cookies from Yahoo Messenger - never, or rarely from my Firefox browser, which is equipped with NoScript and AdblockPlus Rarely use IE.

Yaso, that could be a possible reason since I do visit one site which does use ads ot cover costs. But the thing is, while this is true, NIS never found a tracking cookie because of this in the past, and my NIS is set automatically delete cookies.

If you open Internet Explorer, click Help. and when it opens up put "cookies" in the search box you should find something about allow/block cookies. That section explains how, in your Internet Explorer privacy settings, you can block or allow cookies in various ways. Be careful though if you choose to block some cookies as this may make some web pages fail to display correctly
Its also possible that the site that you visit Snow, may have updated their web code to use cookies to generate more revenue. Or it could be some of the ads inserting their own cookies, that may have been blocked by the site previously.
