Join the club. When they come out with a new release of the software (beyond 25.2) I will give it one more try. Otherwise, I may move on to vendors that provide better quality software and more competent support. Cheers.

Hi folks. Did everybody run for the hills around this joint? I havenāt gotten to fill you in on my trials and tribulations regarding Norton Level 3. Yes, I typed 3.
So it goes like this. After at least a couple of weeks, which should have been within a window of 48 hours, this young lady calls me and says sheās from level 3, and she will be the last person I speak with regarding my relentless onslaught against Norton Support. She was actually from The States, and I could understand her. She was pleasant. Thing is, what happened on my 5th phone conversation with Norton. Same old S**T!!! She wanted to make sure she had my complaints in a row, so she could relay them to her āengineersā, as she referred to them as. She said sheād get back to me via email, or a phone call in short order. Sure enough I did receive an email from her which was a reply-able email. She KIND of admitted that V24 and 25 were bug infested, and that theyāve been working diligently to make it right. I had to remind her that it was Gen Dynamics whose business was taking a hit from lots of people like yourselves who have since gone else where, and I was next in line. They seem to think theyāre doing us some big favor.
So, about 3 days ago I sent back the email to her, or the URL which was really to Norton Support where I had lots to say. I attached a read receipt. I have heard nothing, except once again to receive their latest update to V25.3 ⦠in which not one issue I could see had been resolved.
And so, I write this to you as my way of maybe bringing you up to speed. I hope all is well. Cheers!!!
@majorbuzz Legendary Level 3 exists? Who knew? I did get 25.3 via Live Update and it did not improve or fix any Cloud Backup problems as far as I can tell. Iām sorry to say I doubt they are working diligently to fix anything. They just burned me out after three weeks so I just gave up and closed my Case incident. Thanks for listening!!
Hello everyone,
@Mitch.Green @bjm @SoulAsylum @Puzzler
Thank you for your feedback.
I take note of that.
However, personally, I do not hope for several weeks that GenDigital go back on their strategy of an āautomatic security solutionā. As I said before, customers who are not satisfied with this will change their security solution.
The other big problem is related to the articles in the support (at least for France), which are not in line with version 25.xxxx. They still refer to version 22.xxx of Norton 360. In these circumstances, I consider it exceedingly difficult to help other users within the Norton community.
In addition, I add that in terms of protection services (at least for French customers) Norton offers less than McAfee or Bitdefender. For example, the identity protection included in my Norton 360 Advanced subscription is limited to only 5 emails (I have 7 email adresses), while Bitdefender or McAfee allow to monitor 10 email adresses.
All: @Gribouille342 has hit the other nail dead on its head. Documentation, how toās are not present for the 24.xx and 25.xx releases. Older solutions are still out there albeit some are now not present any longer. Making matter worse are the facts that weāre stuck here on the forums with a minimalized set of tools, we can use to assist ourselves and others alike. It is extremely difficult to assist other these days. I have even been attacked by one user due to whatever issue they were having. As @majorbuzz has pointed out, support appears to be working within the same constraints. How can a company function that way is something I havenāt found an answer for to date. Most likely never will, but that sort of culture is extremely toxic for any company using it.
Over the coming weekend I will be removing Norton from all my devices that were forced back onto the newest version and begin running Defender exclusively. My daily use PC appears to have survived being forced upgraded for some reason. Its still running 22.24.8.36 without issues. The others that were forced updated, are ALL Windows 11 devices. Iāve had to replace one device due to the forcing of update throwing all 6 cores over TjMAX while I was not home. Trashed the MOBO in one specific area rendering it unable to even power up. There has to be something common about Windows 11allowing force installs that I have yet to uncover. In time it will be found and a remedy made. I havenāt abandoned Norton so lets make that clear for clarity. I AM abandoning the possibility of having another PC or laptop crap itself due to being upgraded without my expressed desire to have that happen, and, with settings in place to keep that from happening, yet it does anyway. I donāt also have time to start any arbitration which most assuredly, will not result in being compensated for my loses. Just my 50 cents from where I currently sit.
SA
All: @SoulAsylum As for me, I confirm that given the articles of the support that are not up to date, I do not dare to help other users, because I do not want to mislead them and put them even more in trouble.
Hi @Gribouille342 @SoulAsylum @Mitch.Green
Iām glad you all got my tag and read my post to you. Yes Mitch, there is a level 3. What and when they do it is still quite the mystery.
Since my issues all have to do with what I see in Security History, but my computer (Win 10) works fine, I decided to stay on. I figured that when SoulAsylum did some actually testing a while back and was satisfied that Norton V24 and 25 were protecting him as it should, I will test this company and see when something good finally happens.
Thanks so much for dropping in and relaying what you all are going through.
@ Gribouille and everybody elseāThe articles on V24 or 25 in the US that relate to these specific versions are all very positive. Apparently they test well, but not a bug is ever mention. If you wish, read this by PC Mag ⦠Norton 360 Deluxe Review | PCMag. Bye for now!
I am also someone who has used Norton for at least 20 years and been happy with it but all the recent issues with this new version (v24/25) has made me reconsider and when my subscription ends late this month I will instead go for Bitdefender Total Security. I hope for those who stay with Norton that coming versions will fix most of the current issues.
Thank you for your information about PCmag but as far as Iām concerned, I was referring to the articles in the Norton support that are not updated with respect to 24/25 versions.
I apologize for the confusion.
New version has removed all of my exceptions. How do I get them back. I am this close to deleting all this and getting a new program completely. What was wrong with v24 interface???
I got this error ( This PC may be at risk. Click on Fix Now to help protect it ) when I login to my Norton account and I click the āFix Nowā button but it doesnāt do anything. I did an uninstall and reinstall Norton but the problem still here. Anyone facing this problem? āi tried to upload a screenshot but it hasnāt approveā
@JevinLowWai_Kin ⦠Hi Jevin. āFix Nowā is a warning telling you to run ālive updateā, or if you click āFix Nowā, it will run live update for you. Thatās the what happened in Version 22. I havenāt seen it in either 24 or 25.
To upload a screen shot or any other image in this forum, in the tools you see right above where you are composing, click the one in the middle that has an upward arrow, and take it from there. Hope this helps.
Hi, I tried to create a new thread but my post is pending for more than 2 days now, so I decided to reply here and see if anyone can help.
I have the newest version of Norton (25.3.9983 build 25.3.9983.925) but when I do any scan, they finish immediately with 0 files analised.
If I do a Smart Scan, the Norton doesnāt move from 0% trying to start the smart scan.
I already uninstalled and reinstalled (I even uninstalled using the Norton Removal tool) and still the same behaviour.
My Windows version is Windows 10 22H2.
Any idea whatās wrong?
Thanks in advance
Have you run LiveUpdate and restarted your computer since your installation? Restart, not Shutdown and startup again.
Yes, the liveupdate doesnāt have any more updates. I already restarted, tried to start windows in Safe Mode (but in safe mode I canāt open Norton because there is no internet connection ) and still no luck. Keeps scanning 0 files
It sounds like your 360 installation may have gotten messed up. Open 360 and click on Settings on the left, then on the Troubleshooting tab. Click on the Repair Norton button and see if that fixes things. Restart after that has run and test.
Hi, copying my post here in the hope that some expert or other can help me fix this. Weak WiFi password detected - Norton 360 for Windows - Norton Community
I also get the delight that if I have to restart Windows Norton decides that I must need to switch the VPN on. Sadly, Iād just purchased a new license so I hope Norton are going to fix this otherwise this will be my last year of using Norton as Iāve got better things to do with my time.
Hi,
I did try that but also didnāt solve anything.
I was avoiding, but I finally decided to upgrade windows 10 to windows 11 and after the upgrade the Norton started to work fine again.
Hi @J.Ol . Iāve read through both threads in their entirety regarding V24 and 25. Unfortunately, I believe you are the first person to have any isues with āscanningā.
Iām also using Windows 10 22H2 and although I have roughly 6 problems with Norton, my scans work as they should. I can tell you, itās taken me since October to reach level 3 in Norton Telephone support. They listen, but do nothing. Try googling your problem, or Iām thinking you may have to go with a competing program. Peace!
