Hi Blue452
Have you seen my thread : http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=nis_feedback&thread.id=7182
Pretty much... Exactly the same problem as you
Aparently...
My Laptops .... Track Pad, Bluetooth Mouse, and - My Quickplay Software ... Are All - Keyloggers
Looks Like NIS 08 is getting things very wrong
I Wish Someone would Help Me
Tell Me What To Do!
Hi Blue452,
I'm looking into this issue, and will let you know of any further information I find.
Latest update:
Under the Transaction Protection: General Settings, the "Last Blocked date" has changed for the ctfmon.exe from 9/10/2008 3:35:45 a.m. to 9/13/2008 5:03:58 p.m.
I did a full system scan earlier today and everything came up clean. Why is this file being flagged as keylogger when it is a legitimate file?
NIS 2008
XP SP3
IE 7
P.S. 5:34 p.m. - I just had a look again. It apparently is active right now because the "last block time" has changed to 9/13/2008 5:33:20 p.m.
NOTE: Before this, I went out of the internet and then came on again, and the only site I've been on is this message board.
Update to Post #1 and Post #4:
NIS 2008 is still continously blocking the ctfmon file as a keylogger on my computer? SP3 was installed on my computer on 9-8 and as stated in Post #1, I noticed the blocking on 9-10 and it has been ongoing since then.
Can I assume this is a false positive and not worry about it? If it is, I'll stop positing about it. And is Norton working on a fix?
I just read MartinRees' post and he seems to have had the same problem, but the blocking of the ctfmon file on his computer apparently has stopped, but mine is still going on.
NIS 2008
XP SP3 (as of 9-8-08)
IE 7

There is nothing to worry about; it is part of the Windows' Software.
symantec have Released Updates to sort this Issue, but some users still seem to be getting this Issue.
Floating_Red, thank you for answering and your reassurance that there is nothing to worry about.
