How do I transfer my data and settings, especially Identity information from a previous computer to my new one?
Hi,
you just need to uninstall NIS on the old, then download and install the program to the new machine. Here are the steps:
1. Download latest Norton Internet Security 2011 installer:
- for other languages than English please go to the Norton Update Center: www.norton.com/nuc
2. If there's a previous AV / security product on the machine, remove it /usually security products have Removal Tools, please run them as well after you run the uninstaller program, that can leave some trash after the uninstall, removal tools clear those out/
3. Install Norton Internet Security 2011 with the downloaded installer
4. Activate Norton Internet Security 2011, if you get troubles with this steps, please contact Customer Support. The easiest and fastest way is the free Online Chat: https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/chat/norton-chat.jsp?chatexp=cs&dept=cs&pvid=&pid=cs&layout= They can solve any activation / licensing problems in seconds. :)
5. Run Live Update until you get no new updates
Let us know the results.
Hi, acpromedia,
Fortunately, you can export ("backup") all your Identity Safe credentials/logins to a file that you can move to your new computer on a thumbdrive (etc.) and import ("restore") them there.
Give it a try, and let us know how it works out!
The export and import worked fine. Thank you very much!!
Splendid; that's what we're here for!
Glad I could help.
